What The T@X! Episode #7: Rethinking the Gas Tax

More and more states are relying on an increased gas tax to fund infrastructure upgrades.

Earlier this year President Trump unveiled his $200 billion infrastructure plan to spur a projected $1.5 trillion in spending on roads, bridges, and other projects over the next 10 years. Trump has even expressed a willingness to explore raising fuel taxes to 25 cents a gallon to help fund federal infrastructure grants.

Raising the gas tax is a good start but simply relying on a tax that doesn’t account for increased inflation and fuel efficiency isn’t enough to handle the country’s increasing demands on infrastructure over the next decade.

This has some politicians on both sides of the isle rethinking the gas tax.
